I spent a whole weekend redoing a client's floor plan because I didn't know about the 'repeat grid' trick in Figma
A few months back, I was working on a kitchen remodel layout for a client in the Figma file we share. I had to show them three different tile pattern options for the backsplash, each with maybe fifteen tiles laid out. I didn't know you could just make one tile, select it, and hold 'Option' while dragging to create a perfect, spaced-out grid instantly. Instead, I copied and pasted each tile one by one, trying to line them up by eye with the guides. It was a total mess and took me the better part of a Saturday to get it looking right. When I finally showed a designer friend the file, he laughed and showed me the shortcut. I basically lost a full day of my weekend, which as a contractor, is time I could have spent on actual site work or just relaxing. Has anyone else had a similar 'aha' moment with a basic tool feature that saved you from a huge time sink?
