I finally built an emergency fund after years of avoiding it
I used to believe that as long as I had credit cards, I didn't need cash saved up. Then my car broke down last month, and the repair bill was huge. Putting it on credit would have added interest stress. So, I started setting aside a bit each paycheck. Now having that cushion feels so much safer, and I kick myself for not doing it earlier.

Yeah that panic when something breaks is the worst... glad you got the cushion now.

My AC died in July. Now I just shrug and tap the emergency fund, lmao.

Totally, that first emergency fund win is such a relief. I just had my water heater go, and it was so much less stress knowing the money was already set aside.
