Remember when we all used to dig post holes by hand?
Three years ago on a job in Spokane, my crew and I spent two full days just digging. Last week, the new guy had all 40 holes for a vinyl fence done with the auger before lunch. Anyone still using the old clamshell diggers for small jobs, or is that just a memory now?

Still grab the clamshell for tight spots where the auger can't fit.

My 2004 clamshell still boots up but takes about 15 minutes to load a single webpage, so it's more of a space heater with a keyboard at this point. I mean, I keep it around mostly to remind myself how far we've come with battery life and processing power. Maybe it's just me but that nostalgic startup sound is worth keeping it around, even if it can't do much else.
