Can we talk about setting posts in wet concrete?
I saw a crew in Medford last week just drop a 4x4 post into a hole and pour the bag mix right on top of the dirt. That's a sure way to get a leaning fence in a single winter. How do you all make sure your concrete footings are solid for the long haul?

My buddy's deck nearly fell off his house because the builder did that. Had to tear out six posts after one bad freeze. What's the point of using concrete if you're just making a mud pie?

Ever notice how many things are built just well enough to not fall apart right away? Like that post in wet dirt... it's the same with cheap furniture that wobbles in a year or a driveway seal that washes off after one rain. Feels like we've traded doing it right for just getting it done. Makes you wonder what else is gonna lean when the first real storm hits.
