Tried coworking spaces vs coffee shops for 3 months straight in Medellin
I used to swear by coffee shops for getting work done. Cheap coffee, free wifi, background noise. But after 3 months in Medellin bouncing between both, the coworking space won by a mile. At a place called Selina I could take video calls without shouting, had a real desk, and met 4 other remote workers who shared tips on local SIM cards and apartments. Has anyone else found that coworking spaces pay for themselves in productivity pretty quick?

My last coffee shop session ended with me knocking over some guys latte while trying to reach an outlet under his table. That was the moment I knew it was over for me too. Selina in Medellin saved my sanity, I spent a month there last year and met a guy who helped me ditch my overpriced Airbnb for a way better spot. The desk space alone is worth it, you can actually spread out without that guilt of occupying a table for 4 hours on one coffee. How long did it take you to stop feeling weird about paying for a desk?

Man I gotta be real with you @joel280, coffee shops still win for me. Paying for a desk feels like flushing money down the toilet when I can just buy a $3 coffee and camp out for hours. The background noise actually helps me focus, and I don't have to deal with some weird coworking vibe where everyone's pretending to be super productive.
