TIL that slow internet helped me focus
Everyone wants fast wifi, but it just lets me waste time. A slower connection means I actually finish my work.

Does that trick work for every task? I tried airplane mode but kept turning it back on to check social media. When my internet crawls, waiting for a page to load makes me just grab a book instead. It kinda forces me to use what I have already downloaded. But if I need to look something up quick, it's super frustrating, lol. For me, setting my phone to do not disturb is a better middle ground.

Honestly, your do not disturb middle ground reminded me of my friend who kept caving with airplane mode. He tried your way and finally stopped checking his phone every two minutes.
