Overheard a conversation at a coworking space in Chiang Mai about burnout
A guy at the coworking space was telling his friend he hasn't taken a real day off in 14 months. Said his sleep cycle is shot and he can't remember why he started doing this in the first place. Has anyone else hit a wall like this where the freedom just feels like more work?

I saw a post on Hacker News once where a guy said "working for yourself just means you have a psychotic boss who never leaves you alone." That line always stuck with me because it sounds exactly like what this guy in Chiang Mai is dealing with. Not taking a day off for 14 months is brutal, your brain needs rest to keep making good decisions. I read somewhere that Paul Graham wrote about founders hitting a wall where the original excitement turns into just grinding through tasks, and that's when burnout really sets in.

That quote from Hacker News is painfully accurate and it reminded me of someone @cole_mitchell57 who ran a dropshipping store years back. He was his own worst boss, waking up at 3am to check order alerts and never truly clocking out. The whole "Paul Graham wall" thing is real too, once you're just going through the motions your brain starts cutting corners and the money dries up fast.
