Took me 4 years to realize I was spacing my grid lines wrong...
I was over at a friend's studio downtown last week and saw their proof boards. Everything looked so balanced. I asked what grid system they used and they said the standard 8px one. Got home, checked my files, and I had been spacing things at 10px intervals this whole time. No wonder my layouts always felt a bit off and I was constantly nudging things. Has anyone else had a moment where they found out they were using the wrong base unit for years?

Wait, did you really go 4 years without noticing the misalignment on your own mockups or did you just never zoom in to pixel level?

Oh come on, @mila_jones39, it can't be that big of a deal. People obsess over pixel perfect stuff way too much these days. You probably zoomed in and saw a millimeter gap that nobody else would ever notice in a million years. Half the time those mockups are just rough ideas anyway, not final builds. Maybe they just had other priorities and the alignment thing slipped their mind.
