Three straight days of revisions turned into my best project yet
Last month I had a packaging design for a small coffee roaster in Portland that went through 9 rounds of changes. Every day felt like starting over and I was ready to quit, but then the owner finally sat down with me for an hour and showed me their actual roasting notes and bean origins. That conversation changed everything, we rebuilt the whole concept around those details and the final piece won me a referral from another roaster. Has anyone else had a rough patch that forced you to dig deeper and make something better?

Honestly, guess I'll just keep guessing until someone shows me their grandma's garden too.

Ain't that the truth? I had a similar thing happen with a fence layout for this picky homeowner, THREE days of moving posts around and she kept saying it didn't feel right. Then she finally showed me these old photos of her grandparents' farm and the winding path they used to walk, and I totally rebuilt the whole line to match that curve. That one job got me two more referrals from her neighborhood and honestly made me stop guessing what people want and start ASKING for the real story first. Sometimes the struggle is just the universe telling you to slow down and listen more, you know?
