That $250 pen display case was a total waste of money
Bought a fancy illuminated display case for my marker collection at a design expo in Portland last month. Thought it would make my desk look pro and keep my pens organized. Turns out the LEDs died after 2 weeks and the hinges are cheap plastic. My markers are back in a plain coffee mug and work the same. Anyone else get sucked into buying desk gadgets that look good in photos but fall apart fast?

Last year I spent $80 on a "magnetic levitating plant pot" for my studio. Looked insane in the promo video, like my spider plant was floating in zero gravity. The magnetism was so weak the pot tilted sideways whenever I walked past, and my cat would just knock it off the dock thing. Now it sits in a drawer with a dead AA battery, and the plant lives in a plastic yogurt cup on my windowsill. Honestly the cup gets more compliments than the pot ever did. Have you kept the display case around as a shelf decoration, or did it go straight to the trash?
