Serious question, how long until you figured out you were using layers backward?

I spent a solid YEAR putting my background textures on the BOTTOM layer and my main artwork on TOP. That is just how I thought it worked, you know, like building from the ground up. Then last month I was in a workshop and the teacher pulled up my file on the big screen. She said 'why is your sky sitting on top of your whole composition?' and the whole room went quiet. I felt like a complete idiot. Turns out I had been stacking everything in reverse order the entire time. Has anyone else had that moment where you realize you did the most basic thing wrong for months?

Ugh I feel that. Flipping your layer order is like a light switch moment where everything just clicks into place.
