Last Tuesday my entire moodboard got deleted by a client who said it was 'too colorful' 45 minutes before their deadline

I spent 6 hours curating that thing with exact hex codes and textures from a trip to Portland last winter, only for them to say they wanted 'more beige' after I already sent the invoice, has anyone else dealt with a client who changes the whole brief right before a submission?

45 minutes before their deadline" - man, that is brutal. I would have just stared at the screen for a solid minute after hearing that. Six hours of work and they want beige at the last second? That's not a revision, that's a whole new project. I had a client once ask me to swap all the fonts three hours before print and I still get mad thinking about it. Did you at least get to keep the invoice amount or did you have to start over for free?

Three beige rounds later I finally learned that "warm gray" just means the client has trust issues.
