Debate: Did that $80 font pack actually improve my designs or was it a waste?
I dropped $80 on a premium font bundle last month thinking it would elevate my work, but I'm torn - the condensed sans-serif saved me hours on a client project, yet my wife says she can't tell the difference from free fonts. Anyone else feel like fancy typefaces are a total gamble on whether they pay off?

Actually there's something a little off about that condensed sans-serif saving you time specifically. I've found that premium fonts usually help more with how consistent your kerning and spacing are out of the box, not necessarily the time you spend actually setting type. Free fonts can have messy letter spacing or missing characters that force you to tweak everything manually. The real win with paid fonts is usually the small stuff like proper ligatures, multiple weights, and better hinting for print vs screen. Your wife might not see it but her eyes probably notice the difference in how clean the text reads overall.
