Vent: Spent $850 on a designer belt and the buckle tarnished in 3 weeks

I finally caved and bought that Gucci belt everyone raves about. Three weeks in, the buckle started turning green against my jeans, and the leather got a crease right where the holes start. I brought it back to the Rodeo Drive store in LA and they said it's normal wear, no refund. Has anyone else dealt with this from high end belts, or did I just get a bad batch?

Got burned the same way with a designer wallet years back. Ended up taking it to a local cobbler who fixed the buckle and crease for like 40 bucks. Now I only buy belts from mid-range brands and spend the extra cash on something that actually lasts.

Man, my wallet game is so bad I bought a cheap one at a gas station once and the Velcro gave out before I even got home. Had to hold it together with a rubber band for six months like a broke college kid at a job interview. At this point I'm convinced the only thing built to last is my stubbornness and maybe a good pair of work boots. You got lucky with that cobbler fix, I probably would've just duct taped it and called it character. Mid-range is the way though, learned that lesson the hard way. My pride's got more creases than that wallet ever did.
