The $40 scarf shaper that replaced my $200 hand pressing
I got sick of paying to have my silk scarves professionally pressed every few months, so I tried one of those plastic scarf shaping boards on Amazon and it actually worked way better than I expected. The trick is to steam the scarf lightly before you wrap it, then let it sit overnight on the board, and the creases vanish without any heat damage. My favorite Hermes scarf from 2019 finally looks crisp again after three failed attempts with regular steamers and a flat iron. Has anyone else ditched the dry cleaner for one of these, or am I just lucky with the thin silks?

Skip the flat iron, that's risky on silk anyway. Those boards work fine, just don't crank the steam too high. Thin silks are forgiving, thicker ones might need a second night.
