Rant: The $600 scarf that pills like a 20 dollar one
My sister bought a designer cashmere scarf at a Chicago boutique last month. It got fuzzy after two wears, and the boutique said that's normal for the weave. Am I crazy for expecting more at that price or is this just the standard for luxury now?

Man, that's rough but honestly not surprising anymore... I've seen this exact thing happen to friends with expensive brands. The thing is, luxury pricing these days is more about the label and the story than the actual material quality, especially with cashmere. If they're using shorter fibers or a looser twist in the yarn, it's gonna pill no matter what they charge. Shame on the boutique for brushing it off like that though, at least they could've warned her upfront about the care and wear. She's not crazy, just learning the hard way that high price tags don't always mean better craftsmanship anymore.
