Why I picked Illustrator over Affinity Designer even after 6 months of trying to switch

I spent 6 months forcing myself to use Affinity Designer for logo work because everyone raves about the one-time payment. But I kept running into issues with the pen tool snapping and had to redo paths 3 times per project. Has anyone else found a way to get Affinity to feel as smooth as Illustrator for vector drawing?

6 months? bro you're a masochist. i gave up after 2 weeks when the pen tool decided to snap to a random corner 50 pixels away for the 12th time.

Does anyone else feel like this whole "I will force myself to like the cheaper thing" thing is just a different version of trying to convince yourself budget cereal tastes the same as the name brand? Sometimes the tool that costs more is just better for the job, no matter how much we want to save money.
