Warning: I was wasting a full hour a day on layer selection in Illustrator
My problem was picking objects behind others. Tried clicking, got mad. Found the 'Select Similar' button. Hold down the 'Selection' tool, a tiny menu pops up. Click 'Select Similar Objects'. It grabs everything with the same fill or stroke instantly. Saved me over 5 hours last week alone. Anyone know a faster way to do this for grouped items?

Ugh, tell me about it. I was just reading this article about how our brains are basically wired to focus on negative stuff as a survival thing. It said we have to like, really make an effort to notice the good moments because the bad ones stick way harder. Makes total sense but man, it's exhausting to fight your own head sometimes.
