Took me three hours to figure out how to batch rename layers in Figma

I was cleaning up a huge file from a new hire and every single layer was named 'Rectangle 1', 'Rectangle 2', you get the idea. I needed to rename about 50 icon layers to something useful. I knew there had to be a faster way than clicking each one, but I couldn't find the option. I spent way too long digging through menus and even searched online, but the answers were weirdly hard to find. Turns out, you just select all the layers, open the right sidebar, and double-click the layer name field. It renames them all at once with a number added. I felt so silly after, but also relieved. Has anyone else run into a simple task that took forever because the shortcut was hiding in plain sight?

Three hours for a batch rename is a real journey, but at least you found it.

Wait three hours just to rename some files? @wadepalmer that's wild, I would've given up after like twenty minutes. Honestly sounds like a special kind of torture, but glad you made it through.
