My Figma layers panel froze halfway through a client presentation yesterday

I was presenting a landing page comp to a client at a coffee shop on 5th Ave when my layers panel just went blank and I couldn't select anything. After frantically restarting the app twice, I realized I had accidentally triggered a view-only mode on a nested component. Has anyone else had their tool glitch at the worst possible moment and found a quick fix?

Did you ever stop to think maybe the glitch was actually a favor? If the app had worked perfectly you would've kept clicking through layers and missed the fact that your client's eyes were glazing over anyway. Sometimes getting stuck forces you to actually talk to people instead of hiding behind your screen.

Oh man, that is a nightmare. I have absolutely had Figma just decide to take a nap on me mid-presentation and it's the worst feeling. Here's a quick one - if it ever freezes like that again, try tapping the spacebar then the 'V' key to force the move tool, that has snapped mine back to life before.
