Was it the eyedropper trick that made you think of this? My game changer was learning Ctrl+Z goes back further than just one step in most Adobe programs if you keep hitting it. A designer I interned for showed me that after I'd spent twenty minutes trying to fix a mistake I could have undone. It sounds simple, but not knowing it cost me so much time early on.

Honestly, the Ctrl+Z thing blew my mind too when someone finally told me. Ngl, I wasted a solid month manually redoing stuff before that.
