Just realized my old mentor's advice about the eyedropper tool still saves me hours.

Back in 2012, I was working late in a shared studio space in Austin, and a freelance illustrator named Karen saw me manually typing hex codes. She leaned over and said, 'Just hold Alt and click anything on your screen, not just in the app.' I still use that cross-application color grab every single day. What's the one shortcut someone showed you that you now can't work without?

Was it the eyedropper trick that made you think of this? My game changer was learning Ctrl+Z goes back further than just one step in most Adobe programs if you keep hitting it. A designer I interned for showed me that after I'd spent twenty minutes trying to fix a mistake I could have undone. It sounds simple, but not knowing it cost me so much time early on.

Manual entry builds character and attention to detail.
