Hot take: I finally learned the right way to use the pen tool in Illustrator

For the first two years, my vector paths were always a jagged mess. Last week, I watched a five minute tutorial that showed how to click and drag to make curves instead of just clicking points. My line work went from looking like a shaky sketch to a smooth, professional outline in about an hour of practice. What's the one tool shortcut that took you way too long to figure out?

What was the tutorial you watched? I've tried a few but they always go too fast when they show the click and drag part.

Tbh I watched the same one three times and still messed it up. My click and drag looked like I was having a fight with my mouse. Maybe try slowing the video speed way down in the settings, that saved me. @jade618 I swear some tutorial makers have robot hands moving at light speed.
