Can we talk about the Figma 'Scale Tool' trick that backfired on a big project?

I was trying to speed up a 50-page deck by scaling a whole frame down at once. I held Shift and dragged the corner, but it messed up ALL my text layers, making them blurry and wrong. I learned that Figma's Scale Tool doesn't just resize things, it actually changes the font size numbers in the properties panel, which is a huge pain to fix. Has anyone found a safe way to resize a whole artboard without breaking the text?

Saw a tip about using the auto layout constraints to lock text size before scaling. Does that actually work or is it just more trouble?

People are acting like this is some catastrophic design emergency. You scaled a frame down and your text got smaller, that's literally what scaling does. If you needed the text to stay the same size you should have just grouped the elements and scaled the group instead of the whole frame. The parent frame trick works fine but honestly it's not that deep. Is this really the biggest problem you ran into on that 50 page deck?

Scale the parent frame instead, which keeps your text layers intact.
