Went with a single page over a multi-page layout for my portfolio and it backfired

I spent two weeks deciding whether to do a single scrollable page or separate project pages. Ended up going with the single page because I thought it would be cleaner for mobile users. But after showing it to three people, they all said it felt cluttered with too much info at once. One guy told me he couldn't even find a way to contact me because he scrolled past the footer. Has anyone else tried switching back to separate pages after going single page?

Oh man, I actually read something about this recently. Some design blog was saying single pages are great for storytelling but terrible for task-oriented stuff like finding a contact button. Sounds like you just need a little sticky nav bar with the important stuff, or yeah, just split it into separate pages to give people some breathing room.

Respectfully, those three people just told you your scrolling stamina is lower than their attention span. But yeah, the single page thing is a trap if you have more than four projects. Nobody wants to scroll past your entire life story just to find your email. Just make a separate contact page and call it a day.
