That guy on Reddit told me to ditch my splash page. He was right.
Someone on a design forum last month said my portfolio splash page was killing my bounce rate. I argued with him for two days because I spent 40 hours on that animated intro. Finally swapped it out this week for a straight grid of my best 6 projects. My contact form submissions went from maybe 1 a week to 14 since Tuesday. Has anyone else fought a design change that ended up being the obvious fix?

Yeah I had almost the same fight with a client who wanted their whole homepage to be a video background. Took three months of bad numbers before they finally let me swap it for a clean hero image and a clear headline. Sometimes you just have to let the data sit and hit you in the face before you can admit the pretty thing isn't working.
