Question about putting too many mockups on your portfolio page
I used to cram every device mockup I could find into my projects until a senior designer told me it looked like a stock photo catalog, and now I just show the final design in context with maybe 2 screenshots max, does anyone else find that less really is more for keeping attention?

That mullet analogy is both painful and accurate.

Less really is more for keeping attention" hit me hard because I used to pile on the screenshots too, thinking it showed off my skills. A mentor once told me my portfolio read like a "design version of a mullet" with way too much going on in the back. Ever since I cut down to just the hero shot and one key detail, people actually scroll through my work slower and ask better questions.

i get what you're saying but i gotta push back a little. i tried the whole "hero shot and one detail" thing and it backfired hard for me. recruiters kept asking "okay but show me the wireframes" or "how did you handle the responsive breakpoints" and i had to go digging through old files to prove i actually built the stuff. sometimes a few extra screenshots tell the story better than trying to be mysterious.
