Question about my portfolio's project pages after a client meeting

I showed my portfolio to a potential client in Portland last month, and they got stuck on a branding project page for way too long (like 5 minutes). The old version just had the final logo and a short paragraph. I redid it over the weekend to show my sketches, the three color options I presented, and a quick note on why the client picked the final one. It's a night and day difference in how it tells the story. Has anyone else found that adding a bit of your process makes a project click better for people looking at your work?

Yeah, my buddy's client hired him after seeing his messy sketchbook scans.

Honestly that sounds like a lucky break for your buddy, @quinn_kim45. Most clients just want to see the clean final work.

Totally, showing the messy middle is key... like @quinn_kim45 said.
