Portfolio with a story beat a polished one cold
Compared my old clean portfolio against one that just listed projects. The difference was huge. My old one had nice mockups but no context. The new one tells what I tried, what broke, and how I fixed it. Got three interviews in two weeks after switching. Anyone else find that messy case studies work better than sterile galleries?

Messy case studies work better" is exactly right, hiring people want to see your process not just pretty pictures.

Wonder if some hiring managers are just looking for any reason to say no. A lot of them skim portfolios in 30 seconds anyway, do they really care about your process? Seems like having a clean final result still gets you the job most of the time.
