Overheard someone say they cut their portfolio to 5 projects and got hired
I was at a coffee shop in Portland last week and caught two designers talking. One said she removed everything except her 5 strongest case studies and landed a job at Nike within a month. I've been sitting on 12 projects in my portfolio for like 2 years and always thought more was better. Has anyone else tried cutting way down and seen actual results?

Yo, I was totally in the same boat! For years I thought having tons of work showed how busy and experienced I was. But then a mentor told me recruiters spend like 10 seconds on each project before deciding if they want to talk to you. So I went from 15 projects down to 6 and honestly the difference was wild. The interviews I got actually felt more focused because I knew every single piece inside and out. Nike person was onto something, less really does give you more room to breathe.

My buddy cut his portfolio from 12 to 4 and actually got hired through a cold email a week later.
