My portfolio got 12 views in 3 weeks, then I changed one thing

I posted my new portfolio on Behance and Dribbble last month, zero feedback. Switched my thumbnail from a dark screenshot to a bright 3D render of my app home screen, got 40 views in 2 days. Anyone else see big jumps just from swapping the cover image? How much do thumbnails actually matter for getting real critiques?

That 40 views jump is just the algorithm liking a brighter image. It doesn't mean the work got better. Thumbnails get clicks, not critiques. Real feedback comes from people who actually open the project and dig into the details. If they bounce after 3 seconds, you never find out if your layout or flow is broken. I'd trade 100 thumbnail views for one person who leaves a solid comment on your actual process. The cover is a hook, nothing more. Don't mistake attention for value.
