Looking at my portfolio from a year ago makes me cringe now
I was cleaning up my hard drive and found the PDF I sent out for jobs in early 2023. It was just a bunch of images slapped on pages with no story. Last month, I spent a weekend rewriting every single project description to explain my choices, like why I picked that specific blue for a food delivery app. The difference is huge. Has anyone else had a moment where they realized their old work just didn't explain the 'why'?

Tessa, you nailed it with the "why" thing. I notice this same shift almost everywhere, like even in how people talk about their recipes online. A year ago it was just "here's my grandma's cookie recipe" and now it's "I use brown butter because it adds a nutty depth that complements the dark chocolate." It's like everyone figured out that telling the story behind the decision makes the thing itself more valuable, not just in portfolios but in how we share anything we care about.
