I just hit 50 portfolio views in a single day after changing one thing

I updated my portfolio site to put my case studies right on the homepage instead of hiding them behind a 'work' link. I got 50 views yesterday, which is way more than my usual 10 or so. I think people just bounce if they have to click too much to see your actual designs. What's the one change that gave your portfolio a big boost?

Yeah, putting your case studies right up front is huge. My friend had a similar thing happen when she swapped her whole "about me" intro paragraph for just three big project images with short titles. Her bounce rate dropped like a rock because people stopped leaving to find her actual work. She said it felt weird not talking about herself first, but the numbers didn't lie.

Putting everything on the homepage can get messy fast. I've seen sites that do that and it just looks like a cluttered wall of images. For me, the boost came from making my contact info impossible to miss. I put my email and phone number in the header of every single page. My inquiries went up because people didn't have to hunt for how to reach me. A clean menu with one clear "Work" link works fine if the path to hiring you is obvious.
