Dropped $80 on a Figma template pack that promised "pro-level layouts" and got hot garbage instead
I bought this template pack from a site that looked legit, thought it would save me time on my portfolio redesign. Opened it up and the layers were a mess, everything was ungrouped weird, and the auto-layout was basically broken. Took me longer to fix the templates than it would have to just start from scratch. Anyone else had luck with those paid template bundles or are they all like this?

80 bucks for a Figma template pack is wild when you think about it, that's almost what I pay for a full month of Adobe Creative Cloud. I've been burned too but honestly @reeseanderson is right about those flattened PNGs, half those sellers just screenshot their own designs and call it a day. The real issue is people treating templates like they're magic bullets when most of them are just pretty screenshots with broken auto-layout underneath. I've downloaded maybe ten free kits that were better organized than the paid ones I've tried. Did you at least try to get your money back or was the refund policy just as broken as the templates?

Paid $60 for a "pro UI kit" once and the buttons didn't even have hover states. Opened the file and half the components were just flattened PNGs with no way to edit the text. Spent an hour rebuilding the navigation bar because the original had a broken constrain proportions on the logo. Pretty sure the guy who made it just exported his Behance mockups and called it a day. Last time I trust a screenshot that says "Figma compatible.
