A/B tested two call-to-action buttons on my portfolio and one flopped hard

I ran a simple split test on my portfolio's contact button for about 200 visitors last month. Changing the text from 'Get in touch' to 'See my work' doubled the clicks. Has anyone else found weird wording changes that made a big difference?

...and that's exactly the kind of thing that keeps me up at night honestly. I changed my own site's "Book Now" to "Let's Talk" and clicks went way down. Turns out people just want a direct action, not a conversation starter. Your test makes total sense to me though. "See my work" feels like you're inviting them to look at what you can actually do for them, while "Get in touch" feels like a commitment they're not ready for. I've learned the hard way that even one word can mess with people's heads.

So I feel like I've been the human version of A/B testing lately... changing up what I call my freelance services and watching people run away like I offered them a timeshare. Turns out "I'll draw you a cat" gets way more responses than "creative consultation session" which... honestly fair.
