Wasted $200 on premium paper stock after a printer told me it wouldn't matter
A guy at the Seattle Print Expo told me coated paper would make my flyers pop, but my local shop said uncoated was better for the matte look I wanted. I ignored him and went with coated, and the ink smudged on half the run. Anyone else had a printer give advice that saved them money?

That coated paper is a nightmare with some printers. Had a similar thing happen with business cards once. The shop in Portland warned me about the coating but I didn't listen. Ended up with 500 cards that felt greasy and smeared everywhere.
