Spent $400 on premium cardstock for a wedding invite order and it jammed every printer I own
I took on a rush order for a friend's daughter's wedding last month. She wanted heavy 120 lb cotton paper for the invites, so I bought a case from a specialty shop online. Paid about $400 for 250 sheets including shipping. Every single sheet caused misfeeds in my laser printer and my inkjet. I tried adjusting rollers and cleaning everything, but the paper was just too thick and textured. Ended up having to order a different 80 lb paper and eat the cost on the fancy stuff. Has anyone else had luck using heavy cotton paper without ruining their equipment?

Four hundred bucks for 250 sheets, are you kidding me? That's like a buck sixty per piece of paper just begging to get chewed up. Honestly, for that price I'd expect it to come with a personal paper feeder assistant.

But have you actually tried any of the higher-end watercolor papers before? The texture and weight really do make a difference if you're doing wet-on-wet techniques, cheap paper just buckles and pills up. For someone who paints a lot, that cost per sheet starts to feel more reasonable when you're not fighting the paper the whole time.
