Showerthought: I just printed my 10,000th test page for a single client project
It's for a local bakery's new packaging, and they wanted to see the exact color match of their frosting pink. We went through 27 different paper stocks and 4 different printers in my shop. The final approval came yesterday, and the owner just said 'Yep, that's the one.' I'm looking at this huge stack of pink paper and I can't believe we got there. Has anyone else ever had a job where the test prints just completely took over?

Honestly the paper stock thing is what gets me too. That's not just a few sheets of cardstock, that's like comparing tissue paper to cardboard. The color shifts so much between them, a pink on glossy paper looks totally wrong on something with a rough texture.

Ten thousand sheets just to match a frosting color is a level of detail I can't even picture. My brain gets stuck on the 27 different paper types, that's a whole forest right there. The amount of time and material that must have gone into that stack is kind of amazing.
