Hit 5,000 business cards printed in one month and it changed my workflow

I run a small print shop in Portland and last month I hit 5,000 business cards for a local real estate company. That number surprised me because I usually do maybe 1,500 a month for everyone combined. The real debate is whether I should invest in a bigger press or keep outsourcing overflow to a bigger shop. Has anyone else hit a production number that made you rethink your whole setup?
