Dropped $260 on a 500 card print run at a shop in Boise and the color came back looking like mud
If you are about to send a big run to a local printer, make them show you a physical proof first. I skipped that step last month because I was in a rush and the shop said their digital press was dialed in. Big mistake. The navy blue on my cards turned purple and the red logo came out dull orange, nothing like the file I sent over. I was out $260 for 500 cards and had to eat the whole run because I already handed them out at a trade show in Nampa. What killed me was that their monitor looked fine, so nobody caught it until the boxes showed up. Ask for a proof on the actual stock or at least one test sheet before the press starts rolling. Has anyone here had luck getting a shop to match a printed swatch instead of just trusting their screen?
