Vent: My aunt treats my color corrections like a family discount service

She brings over her box-dye disasters before every holiday and expects me to fix them for free. I'm tired of giving up my weekend time for no pay when I have bills to cover. Do you just start charging relatives or cut them off from your skills completely?

After doing free fixes for my sister-in-law three times, I realized my time has value. It's not about being mean, it's about respecting the work you put into your craft. I started charging a family rate that covers my supplies at least, and it stopped the constant requests.

Exactly. People respect what they pay for.

Charge her like @reeseanderson did, or she'll keep taking advantage.
