Tried the cold rinse on a balayage client last week and her ends went brassy by day 3
Did a level 7 lift to a soft beige on a client in Sacramento last Tuesday. I always rinse warm, but decided to finish cold since everyone swears by it for shine. Her ends looked great walking out the door, then she sent me a photo day 3 and the tone was gone, straight yellow. Now I'm wondering if the cold rinse closed the cuticle before my toner could settle in, or if I just mixed it too weak at 10 volume. Any of you finish cold on lightened hair, or do you keep it warm the whole way?
