TIL toner can fix brassy hair way faster than purple shampoo

I spent 6 weeks in Sacramento fighting orange tones with purple shampoo and it barely moved. My coworker finally made me try a 10-volume toner with blue pigment and it neutralized everything in one 20 minute session. Has anyone else found toner works better than shampoo for stubborn brass?

Makes sense when you think about how we treat problems in general, always reaching for the gentlest fix first when something stronger is right there. Purple shampoo is like a band-aid, while toner actually targets the specific shade and cancels it out completely. Seems like every stubborn issue needs the more direct solution sooner than we want to admit.
