That one client who asked me to just 'make her look awake'

Had a client come in last Tuesday around 4pm, looked like she hadnt slept in days. She sits down and goes 'just do whatever, I trust you.' That almost never happens in my chair. I gave her a softer face-framing highlight and a quick brow groom and she started crying happy tears. Anyone else get those rare clients that just let you do your thing without a million directions?

Ask if she gave you any hints about what was going on in her life that made her so tired. Like was it work stress or maybe she just had a baby or something. Those kind of stories usually hit different when you find out what's behind the tears.

Told my buddy Mike about a similar situation once, turns out his coworker was dealing with a sick parent and working two jobs just to keep the lights on. He felt awful for assuming she was just lazy or unmotivated when she kept nodding off at her desk. Now he always asks people how they're really doing before he judges their tiredness.
