Showerthought: I just hit 1,000 haircuts on the books since opening my chair.
It hit me that 800 of those were probably just the 'lived-in blonde' look, which wasn't even a thing when I got my license. Anyone else feel like client requests cycle faster than fashion magazines now?

OH EM GEE @miles_roberts22 I feel this SO hard. The speed of trends is just bonkers now. I swear clients walk in asking for something they saw on TikTok that morning and expect you to just KNOW it. That mood board trick is smart though, I hate when people describe a color as "copper" and show me a picture of something totally different. It's like we're speaking different languages half the time. I keep a folder on my phone too but it's a mess of random screenshots from instagram reels. Still better than trying to guess what they mean from words alone though.

Yeah, the speed is wild. I started keeping a quick reference album on my phone, just screenshots of trending cuts and colors from Instagram each season. When someone asks for "expensive brunette" or a "wet mulllet," I can show them the visual right away. It cuts down on confusion and lets you confirm you're both picturing the same Pinterest board. Saves so much time compared to just talking it out.
