Rant: a stylist in Dallas told me to stop rinsing conditioner out fully and half my chair disagrees
After 12 years of rinsing until it squeaked, I sat in on a class in Dallas last month where the teacher swore leaving a little slip in the hair seals the cuticle better, and now I want to know if the rest of you leave some in on purpose or if that is just lazy rinsing with extra steps.
The trick with leaving some in is where you leave it and how much. A tiny bit at the mid lengths and ends actually does help, but if you leave too much at the roots you get that gunky buildup look by day two. The teacher was probably talking about a dime size amount worked through the ends after you squeeze the water out, not just skimping on the rinse. Try it on half your head next wash and see if the ends feel any different after it dries.
