One client's throwaway comment changed how I do balayage, but now I second guess it

Last month a client in Portland said my highlights looked 'too stripey' and honestly I was offended at first. I've been doing foils with a 45 degree angle for like 6 years and nobody complained before. After she left I tried doing finer weaves with a more vertical sectioning and yeah, the blend was softer. But now I'm wondering if I lost some of the dimension that made my work stand out. Anyone else get feedback that fixed one thing but made you question your whole technique?

Did you take photos of both techniques side by side to compare?
