Just realized hot tools aren't always better. Switched from a $400 titanium flat iron to a $60 ceramic one.

I was at a salon in Austin last month and the stylist next to me used this basic ceramic iron. I thought she was crazy. But my titanium one kept giving me these weird hot spots that fried my ends. Tried her iron on a client with fine hair and it was SO much smoother. No snapping or that burnt smell. Has anyone else noticed their expensive tools actually mess up certain hair types?

Girl YESSS! My expensive flat iron fried my hair too, cheap ceramic saved it.

Wait, you mean the expensive one actually made things worse? I always figured spending more meant better ingredients or whatever. That's wild to hear the cheap one worked better for you. Ive been burned by that too, thinking pricier equals safer. Makes me wonder what they're actually putting in those high-end plates.
