Just realized a $6 color wheel from the art store fixed my mixing mistakes after 2 years
I've been eyeballing toner ratios for years at my salon in Fort Wayne and always ended up with something slightly off, maybe too ashy or too warm. Last week I finally bought one of those cheap paper color wheels from the art supply shop down the street and started checking my formulas against it before mixing. Turns out I was adding too much of the cool base in almost every formula, which explained the muddy results I kept blaming on developer strength. Has anyone else tried using a basic color wheel instead of just trusting your eye, and did it actually stick with you or did you go back to gut feel after a while?
