Hot brush trick for smoothing flyaways I tried yesterday

I had a client with tons of baby hairs around her hairline that just wouldn't lay flat. I grabbed my hot brush but it kept slipping off the short hairs. Then I remembered an old trick: spray a bit of hairspray on a clean toothbrush first then run the hot brush over it. Worked like a charm and held all afternoon. Anyone else got weird little hacks for those stubborn flyaways?

and if you lightly spritz the toothbrush with dry shampoo first it adds more grip without the crunch.

The dry shampoo trick is pure genius, now I'm picturing someone grabbing a dusty old toothbrush from the back of the drawer and spraying it down with dry shampoo like some sort of flyaway wizard. Honestly, at this point the toothbrush is doing more heavy lifting than my actual hairbrush some mornings. Just don't grab the one you actually use for your teeth by mistake, that's a mistake you only make once.
