Changed my mind about silicones after a Saturday class in Austin

Went to a continuing ed workshop at the Blowout Salon last month and the instructor proved with a side-by-side how certain silicones actually protect hair from heat damage. Has anyone else seen results that made you rethink your ingredient blacklist?

Hard pass for me. Those "certain silicones" are still just plastic coating your hair and building up over time, no matter what a one day class says. My hair felt like straw after I stopped using them but that was just the damage underneath finally showing.
